Advocacy Overview
ARA's registered lobbyists advocate for the best interests of ag retailers while monitoring federal agencies, regulations and legislation that could impact agribusinesses and their farmer customers.
Each year, ARA members decide a new set of public policy issues to steer the association's advocacy efforts with elected officials and regulatory agencies in Washington during the annual ARA Legislative Fly-In and beyond.
Policy Priorities
Legislative Fly-In
More than 80 ARA members met with at least 130 Congressional offices from both sides of the aisle for last year's Fly-In event to build momentum for common-sense policy for ag retailers. All ARA member representatives are encouraged to participate in ongoing advocacy efforts with their members of Congress.
The Scoop Podcast hosts ARA's Hunter Carpenter to discuss 2024 public policy priorities addressing the top issues impacting ag retailers.
Congressional Facility Visit Guide
To continue the momentum from the legislative fly-in visits in Washington, ARA supports its members throughout the year when they invite their elected officials to tour their facility. These facility visits educate lawmakers about what ag retailers need to serve American farmers while keeping their team and community safe.
ARA's Congressional Facility Visit Guide contains best practices and media samples to give members a step-by-step resource to host a successful visit. Discover how to pave your way for a productive relationship with your legislators.
