ARA Sent a Letter to FMCSA Requesting an Enforcement Delay for ELD and HOS
Oct 25 2017
ARA sent a letter to Secretary Chao and Deputy Administrator Jefferson, of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The letter requests the approval of a one-year enforcement delay followed by a waiver and limited exemptions from compliance with December 18, 2017, implementation date for the Final Rule on Electronic Logging Devices (ELD), and Hours of Service (HOS) Regulation. Additionally, ARA requests that the FMCSA takes action to address the significant problems with the current ELD mandate that will likely occur if the compliance deadline remains the same.
