ARA Signs Letter to OSHA with Questions Regarding HCS of 2012

ARA signs a letter with The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) and Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment (RISE) to Director Galassi of the Directorate of Enforcement Programs of OSHA. The letter includes questions that came up with the implementation of the Hazard Communication Standard (“HCS”) of 2012, found at 29 CFR 1910.1200. According to OSHA staff, custom blending of fertilizer would be considered “production,” ad by definition, production is part of chemical manufacturing under the HCS 2012.
