ARA Joins Trade Coalition Comments on DHS Cyber Security Proposal
Jul 01 2024
On July 1, 2024, ARA along with other national trade associations submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in response to its proposed rule to implement new requirements of the Cybersecurity Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act (CIRCIA).
The proposed rule’s definition of covered entity appears overly broad and could be misconstrued to include trade associations like ARA that serve members within the critical infrastructure sector but does not own or operate any critical infrastructure.
The letter encourages DHS to clarify that covered entities are only those that own or operate critical infrastructure systems or assets.
