ARA Submits Comments to FMCSA on Driver HOS
Oct 21 2019
ARA submitted comments to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) on its proposed reform to the hours of service (HOS) regulations. Because agricultural retailers heavily rely on commercial drivers for the "just-in-time" delivery of supplies and products to farmer customers. ARA supports reform that will increase flexibility while promoting the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs).
ARA's comments call for the expansion of the current 100 air-mile "short haul" exemption, the extension of the current 14-hour-on-duty limitation when adverse weather hits and more.
